London reminds me of New York in many ways. Like most cities, it’s filled with super interesting and diverse people with varied interests, careers and life stories. On our last visit, the weather was great and we opted to not fill our days with exhausting tourist activities, but instead the company of friends, both old and new.
During our stay, we luckily stumbled upon The West Yard at Camden Lock, an artisanal food market, en route to Millennium Bridge. It was a bit overwhelming at first — so many incredible options that spawned a fear of commitment in all of us. I took a while in deciding what to order but when I came across this duck confit burger at The Frenchie stall, I knew the search was over. This burger — made of shredded duck confit leg, crispy duck cracklings with rocket, mustard and a homemade red onion chutney on a demi brioche bun — made me think for a moment that everything was right in the world. For topping choices, I chose goat cheese and truffle honey. My friend Carolina ordered the grilled cheese which was equally mind-blowing.
I brought along my new Chrysalis Cardi by this great brand called Encircled, based out of Canada. I am so happy with it — it’s one of those pieces you can wear 10 different ways so I’ve been able to save a lot of packing room in my bag as a result. And I love that there are step-by-step videos on the site so you can log-in from wherever you are in the world and learn how to switch up your look on the spot. But the best part about it (at least for me) is that it is so soft and generous in size so it can double as a blanket for the plane ride as well.
