A Look Back To Look Forward: Happy 2015

For us, 2014 was a lot of things. It was a whirlwind of highs and a blur of some lows. We took a leap of faith and focused on growing Kalaki Riot full-time — a tremendous challenge with mucho reward. We were noticed and featured by some of our favorite publications and influencers — something that happened organically and seemed so unrealistic when we first started this brand. We traveled to places that blew our minds and gained new perspective and inspiration as a result. We stopped thinking about what everyone else in the industry was doing and made a resolve to just do us and whatever works for the best customers in the world — our own. And we decided to unapologetically live our urban island lifestyle because that’s who we are. But perhaps most importantly, no matter what happened in 2014 we were able to keep trucking and do rad things. That’s what it’s all about.

The resolutions we’ve heard from others run the gamut. Business goals aside, I’m personally stoked to focus on things that I took away from 2014. Like taking better care of our minds and bodies. Learning how to say “no” to people, activities and obligations that don’t bring value to our lives. Being good to the people that we care about. And doing something for ourselves every day, something different once a month and something spectacular every year.

We contemplated all of this as we said PEACE to 2014 in Narrowsburg, New York. As our friends get a little older, it’s becoming increasingly harder to get excited over how to ring in the new year. But so long as we’re in good company and we eat so much that our fitness resolutions are all we can think about and our bodies hurt from laughing so hard, I don’t really think we need much else.

So long 2014, you were good. But 2015 will be better.
